American Hero is the story of three "sandwich artists" who spend their days toasting subs in a mall food court. A teenager, a single mom and a downsized former corporate banker, this unlikely minimum wage-earning trio find their lives turned upside down when the manager of the fast food franchise they work for mysteriously vanishes, leaving them to keep the place afloat on their own. As the supply of cold cuts and sliced cheddar cheese begins to dwindle, the three bicker, commiserate and dream of a more secure career. American Hero comes to the Alder Stage in Portland.
