Phantom
Brunish Theatre at Antoinette Hatfield Hall
1111 SW Broadway Portland
Gaston Leroux's 1910 novel The Phantom of the Opera has inspired numerous works for the stage and screen, but few are as authentic as Yeston & Kopit's Phantom. This rarely-produced adaptation explores the depths of the Phantom's character and illuminates his humanity in ways that create an intimate, deeply moving theater experience. Composer Maury Yeston's lush and elegant music echoes an earlier, classic age, evoking "musical theater's golden past" (The New York Times). This production at the Brunish Theatre at Antoinette Hatfield Hall in Portland will transport you to 1890s Paris to meet the Phantom few have ever known.
